Trail running fatigue: when the week should train less
Sleep, niggles, and a long from yesterday are training inputs. Tired means skip intervals. Wrecked means rest. The peak date stays.
Fatigue is not a mood. It is last night’s sleep, yesterday’s long, a knee at 2/10. Those facts change Tuesday. They do not cancel the race.
Ridgework uses four marks: fresh, fine, tired, wrecked. Fresh keeps the written week. Fine keeps load but does not add a second hard day. Tired turns hard and steady into easy. Wrecked turns them into rest; easy stays easy.
This is how load monitoring is used in the endurance literature: as a planning input, not a diagnosis. If it feels like injury or illness, see a doctor. The app only changes the week.
The mistake is doing the intervals because they were on the card. Commitment to a session is not fitness. The 77 km still happens if Tuesday is 50 minutes easy.
Now put your own date in
This guide opens a week the planner would actually write. Change the date if yours is different. The ready date stays.
